Kenneth N. Heintz is corporate vice president of Mergers and Acquisitions for HUGHES Electronics Corporation. He was promoted to this position in July 2000.
In his position, Heintz has primary responsibility for the day-to-day execution of all merger and acquisition transactions within HUGHES Electronics and its business units, including the coordination with subject matter experts and the management of investment banker relationships related to mergers and acquisitions.
Previously Heintz was executive vice president and chief financial officer of PanAmSat Corporation, the world's leading commercial provider of satellite-based communications services. PanAmSat operates a global network of state-of-the-art satellites supported by professionals on five continents.
Heintz became executive vice president and CFO of the new PanAmSat Corporation when HUGHES Communications Galaxy unit, a division of HUGHES Electronics Corporation, was merged with PanAmSat in May 1997. Prior to that, he served as vice president of Corporate Development for HUGHES Electronics Corporation and spearheaded strategic merger, acquisition, divestiture and joint venture activities for the company.
Heintz joined HUGHES Electronics in September 1994 after a 27-year career with Deloitte and Touche, an international accounting firm, having served a wide range of major multinational corporations in technology and related industries. While at Deloitte and Touche, he served HUGHES Electronics and HUGHES Aircraft Company in various roles since 1974.
Heintz is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. He also served on the AICPA Defense Contracts Committee.
Born January 11, 1947, in New Orleans, La., Heintz graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, with a bachelor's degree in economics with honors.
He and his family currently reside in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.
